Guided Steelhead Fishing Trips

The Columbia River has one of, if not the largest runs of steelhead in the world. Every year 300,000 to 800,000 steelhead cross over Bonneville Dam. Many fishermen say that Steelhead are the hardest fighting fish (pound for pound) that there is. They put up a fantastic battle, making numerous aggressive runs and leaping far into the air. With two runs (Winter and Summer), the Columbia River sees nearly constant Steelhead action all year round.

Summer Steelhead: Summer Steelhead are the most acrobatic and aggressive fish in our rivers. Fishing is good from March through September, with the best fishing in July. Weighing from 5 to 22 pounds summer Steelhead are usually a bit bigger and more active than the winter run.

Winter Steelhead: December through March is prime Winter Steelhead time. They are hard fighting fish that like to make long drag peeling runs that will keep you on your toes. Ranging from 5 to 19 pounds winter Steelhead are excellent table fare. Side drifting eggs and pink worms is a productive method for catching these chrome beauties.
