I’m Jason Berg, owner and operator of Hotline Guide Service. I’m based in Portland, but I guide most of Northwest Oregon. I’ve spent the last 20 years perfecting my techniques to catch the best fish.

I’m insured, that means you are too while on-board my boat. I’ve been certified as a professional guide. I’ve taken all of the training to be first-aid and CPR qualified. I’m licensed and I’m US Coast Guard Certified.
I’ve always loved fishing, but decided to become a guide when I recognized my passion changed from catching fish myself to enjoying helping other people catch fish.
A Little History
When I was a kid I would spend my summer vacations living and fishing in Pacific City, Oregon with my two great uncles. Those two guys were like my grandpas, but they were my dads uncles. They gave me their advice, encouragement and knowledge. I spent a big portion of my childhood fishing in the ocean with them. I got really addicted to it, the sight of the wide open sea and the chance of catching something really big. I’ve been obsessed with fishing ever since. The boat you see in the background was hand built for them in 1974. It was a 22′ Kiwanda Dory named “Hotline”. It stayed with that name for over 30 years. All I’ve ever wanted to do is fish. Those two guys are responsible for starting this passion that I have for fishing. In honor of them, I’ve named my guide service “Hotline”.
